Sunset Stroll

Sunset Stroll –  San Francisco China Beach is a small cove located in the sea-cliff neighborhood. San Francisco is known for its fog, and that fog comes in through the ocean so that even on the warmest days of the year, a chill can usually be felt in the ocean air as you stroll along the beach.

Grand Canyon

GRANDIOSE -The grandest of all the canyons of the world is the Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona.  A powerful and inspiring landscape, that overwhelms our senses through its immense size; 277 river miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and over a mile deep. Recent evidence suggests the Colorado River established its course and carved the canyon at least 17 million years ago. Since that time, the Colorado River continued to erode and form the canyon to the point we see it at today.

Peggy's Cove

Peggy’s Cove is a small rural community located on the eastern shore of St. Margaret’s Bay in Nova Scotia. Known as the idyllic fishing village, Peggy’s Cove is one of Canada’s most popular attraction and an artist’s paradise.

Devil's Tower

Devils Tower is a sacred place for Native Americans. According to the National Park Service, more than 20 tribes have potential cultural affiliation with Devils Tower National Monument. The Devils Tower is a 1,267-foot tall volcanic rock formation in the Black Hills region of Wyoming. The formation was first discovered by explorers in 1875 during a geological survey of the area. The surveyors took one of its many Indian names, “Bad God’s Tower” and interpreted it as “The Devil’s Tower.”

Fourth Dimension

In our three dimensional world, we can look at all space as existing on three dimensions. We are limited to length, width, and height, and we can only travel along three perpendicular paths. In the fourth dimension, these same three axes continue to exist. Added to them, however, is another axis entirely, “Imagination”.  Many fascinating possibilities exist when a spatial fourth dimension is present.

Photo was taken through a window of a room at Ringwood Manor. Both the reflection in the glass and the room give the illusion of a fourth dimension.

The 1985 ING New York City Marathon

BIRDS EYE VIEW – The start of the 26.2 mile, ING 1985 New York City Marathon, photographed from the top of the west tower (693 ft), Verrazamo-Narrows Bridge. I recall how the bridge began to shake and bounce in cadence with 18 thousand runners as they crossed into Brooklyn. The first place male  and female winners were, Orlando Pizzolato, 2:11:34 and Grete Waitz 2:28:34.

White Birch Trees

WHITE BIRCH

Where the white birch grow,
and autumn sun shines on the shattered bark, it glows.

Like the white keys on a piano that sit side by side,
only to play the white birch melody in stride.

The winter snow will come and cover the white birch in a dream, while they sleep along the reflecting stream.
