HARVEST MOON - The Harvets Moon is said to come before or afters the autumnal equinox. Often the Harvest Moon seems to be bigger or brighter or more colorful than other moons. These effects have to do with the seasonal tilt of the earth. The warm color of the moon shortly after it rises is caused by the light fromn the moon passing through a greater amount of atmospheric particles than when the moon is overhead. The apparent larger size is because the brain perceives a low-hanging moon to be larger than one that's high in the sky. This is known as a moon illusion and can be seen with any full moon.

But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. - Kahlil Gibran

Summer’s Passing

Waking up to the last day in spring, only to realize that summer would soon begin – budding leaves on the trees so bright, wallow in the full sunlight – fireflies shining in their merry flight, summoned the soul with heaven’s delight – now many long days of summer have past, only to welcome autumn’s colors at last.  (Gigli 2009) –  Photo was taken at Ringwood Manor State Park, N.J.
