The Daisy
By Bob Gaydos
The roses came and went,
their glory quickly spent.
The peonies were gone
from glorious to brown.
The Solstice was still
several days to come,
yet spring had early
lost its glistening crown.
Fear not whispered the daisy,
its petals crisp and white.
I’m here to right
the unexpected blight.
Guess you just can’t
keep a good flower down.
