Gigli’s Photo of the Week

Only the wandering mists of the sea
Shall companion me;
Only the wind in its quest
Shall come where I lie,
Or the rain from the brooding sky
With furtive footstep shall pass me by,
And never a dream of the earth
Shall break on my slumber with lure of an out-lived mirth.

Hi Rich,
Lovely picture and poem. We live on the coast of Maine, and have seen the “style” of lobster traps change through the many years we’ve been here. The Prince Edward Island style looks more like the older ones here. Now they are metal, usually yellow. On our travels – in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland particularly – we’d usually stay on the coast, and it’s been so interesting to see the type of fishing boats, traps, etc. from each area.

Rich, again your photo/poem pairing is greatly admired. Can you help me by identifying the source of LMM’s poem. As a part time resident of PEI, I have a particular interest in her work.
Thanks,
