FLYING EAGLE – Did you know that in 1782, the Bald Eagle became the national bird and political symbol of the United States of America? However, it wasn’t without opposition from Benjamin Franklin, who proposed the turkey as the national bird. Could you imagine having a turkey on top of a flag pole or an American Gold Turkey coin?
